As many of you know, the Sapien Wallet team attended the BlockchainUA 2020 conference in Kyiv, Ukraine earlier in September. We set up a booth and had most of the existing team there to spread the word about Sapien Wallet and our innovative Human Rating Platform. But, we were also present to gain knowledge ourselves, to mingle with and meet some of the crypto and blockchain industry’s experts and enthusiasts, right here in Ukraine.
We were extremely glad to see how much the crypto community is growing, not only in Ukraine but also in international circles. We had the opportunity to speak with many such interesting people and saw an excited and animated crypto community and so many talented developers and blockchain architects present at the conference. This gave us extra assurances that Sapien Wallet really is in the right place at the right time.
Sapien Wallet’s founder and CEO, Sergey Lysyuk gave an interview to the Ukrainian crypto news outlet ‘Cryptodealer’ at the BlockchainUA conference. Cryptodealer is a well-known crypto news outlet in Ukraine and especially Kyiv, and according to Lysyuk, it was “a great pleasure” to share his knowledge and opinions with them. During the interview, Lysyuk shared his opinions regarding the rapidly emerging DeFi industry. Having grown so exponentially, and worth over $12 billion (having grown $6 billion since the month of August until the time of writing) DeFi is a topic that is on everybody’s tongue.
Lysyuk expressed his concern regarding the DeFi industry, “as with many things that are related to blockchain and crypto, in particular, there is a lot of hype. And with hype comes an opportunity for bad actors to scam people who are looking to capitalize on the hype” said Lysyuk. He also did not hold back in his interview with Cryptodealers, giving them a real piece of his mind when it came to the number of scams that plague the DeFi industry and the blockchain industry as a whole.
With his reputation of being a shrewd and vehemently careful businessman and entrepreneur, it was unsurprising he had such opinions on this topic.
However, Lysyuk has expressed to the team that DeFi is an innovative and futuristic step forward for the financial industry, however, there needs to be more due diligence done by everyone who chooses to get involved. He also expressed, in a tongue-in-cheek manner that “if there was some kind of decentralized, Human Rating Platform that existed, far fewer people in the crypto industry will become victims of scams.” This was, of course, a reference to the Sapien Rating Protocol which is currently being developed by the Sapien Wallet tech team and the backbone of our Human Rating Platform.
Lysyuk has worked in the IT industry for over 10 years and has held numerous executive positions in IT companies and IT startups. Having seen the potential growth of the crypto industry in 2017, Lysyuk decided to enter the crypto industry with Sapien, believing that with his experience he can capture a sizeable chunk of this emerging market. This was what interested many numerous news outlets including Hackernoon, VC.RU, Cryptodealers, and more to continue accepting and broadcasting his opinion pieces and interviews through their outlets.
The Sapien Wallet would like to thank Cryptodealers, especially for this interview opportunity. To receive the latest crypto news in Ukraine and internationally, you can follow Cryptodealers on Facebook here.
